Michael Charles Farrar Bell (1911-1993) was a British artist best known for his work in stained glass and postage stamp design. Trained at the Edinburgh College of Art, he became the head of the renowned firm Clayton & Bell in 1950, carrying on a family legacy of ecclesiastical glass work.
His major projects included the west window at Exeter Cathedral and restoration of the east window at Bath Abbey. In the graphic arts realm, he also designed significant British postage stamps, including frames for the 1953 coronation issue of Elizabeth II and other definitive series.
