In original slate blue cloth-covered boards, lettered in gilt on the spine and in black on the front cover. 8vo; xiii, [1], 319, [1]pp. followed by three pages of publisher's ads. With illustrations from photographs throughout, including both in-text and full-page plates.

Boards with wear to extremities, and a few small stains to the front board; spine darkened, slightly cocked, and rubbed; interior with toning, occasional wear to gutters, a few plates slightly loose, a couple of pages with offsetting from a newspaper clipping laid in loose, general light handling wear including one leaf with a small tear at the lower margin, and scattered foxing, staining, and grime (concentrated at the beginning of the volume). A good to very good copy.
