Mid-Atlantic Classical Carved Mahogany Chest of Drawers

Circa 1830, mahogany veneer, birds eye maple veneer, cherry, with poplar and white pine secondary, the backsplash with later relief carved spread winged eagle (20th century), supported by original panels with plinth, two upper side by side drawers with birds eye maple above a deep projecting drawer above three recessed graduated drawers, stiles with applied carved columns featuring pineapple and acanthus leaf, paneled sides, front carved scrolled paw feet.

Later carved eagle at backsplash; later pulls (plug holes present); some veneer chips and patches; wear especially at feet.
