Continental Neoclassical Carved Mahogany Sofa

Circa 1830-1840, mahogany veneer, oak secondary, figured mahogany veneers, the arched back crest with book-matched veneer, traditional scrolled arms with applied ormolu rosette, flush book-matched veneered skirt, robustly carved acanthus ball and claw front feet, down-swept rear tapered feet, together with later red velvet upholstery, finished at the rear with upholstered panel.
