Attributed to Bertie County, early 19th century, dovetailed yellow pine box, the top with butt hinges and applied molded edge, open interior, distinctive molded and scalloped double drop skirt, dovetailed bracket feet, the whole with old grey-blue paint.

A nice small period chest with original grey-blue paint.

Staining, wear and paint loss to top; right rear foot with crack and repair, lower one inch tipped; left rear foot tipped lower 2.25 in.
