Two Southwestern Native American Coil Baskets

Lot Details & Additional Photographs
The first, an early-20th-century hand-woven Navajo wedding basket using dyed sumac and possibly willow and yucca stems with a braided rim (15 in. diameter); and the second, a mid-20th-century likely Papago hand-woven basket using beargrass and devil's claw with a geometric five-pointed star decoration and a straight woven rim (11 1/4 in. diameter).

The Navajo basket with fading to dyes and a few small weave losses; a few areas of fraying to Papago basket.
