American Classical Mahogany Step-Back Bookcase

Circa 1840, mahogany, mahogany veneer, poplar and white pine secondary, multi-part form, molded cornice with applied beaded trim, two hinged glass panel doors with upper Moorish style arch and repeating beaded central stile, louvered shelf interior, projecting base with two flush drawers in flame mahogany veneers, flush sides, short bracket feet.

Overall good usable condition with high polished surface; old wavy glass; later (but appropriate) pulls; some old dark marring; left and right base sides with tight shrinkage cracks; back panel with later drilled hole lower left.
