Rochester, New York, circa 1874, gold painted metal mounts, plush green paisley upholstery with brass tack trim, relief carved frame featuring dog heads to the arm terminus; adjustable height head rest and angle; adjustable height serpentine seat with pierced star motif (operated by lever at the lower back side) with faint illegible stamp at rear center edge; front left side and rear with seat angle adjustment levers, brass oval plaque to left seat rail "Geo. W. Archer, Rochester, N.Y., Patented" and the front iron rail marked "Pat'd Setp. 4, 1860 / March 17, 1874" and further marked to the left iron panel.

48 x 23 x 28 in.

Recently restored; dog heads reset at the joints; overall good functional condition.
