Antique Giltwood Icon of the Madonna and Child, after Pietro Lorenzetti (Italian, 1306-1348)

19th century or earlier, tempera or oil on panel, after the well known altarpiece Madonna and Child Enthroned, with Angels at the Galleria degli Uffizi in Florence, presented within an Gothic style arched altarpiece frame with carved foliate pediment, the base with gilt lettering "Ave Maria" flanking a central reserve, retaining remnants of old labels to the reverse.
