From a Private North Carolina Collection

Nell Dorr (1893-1988) worked as a photographer in Florida for many years before moving to New York City where she met Alfred Stieglitz and Edward Steichen, and then later moved to New England. Dorr became well known for her photographs of mothers and children, and after the death of her daughter in 1954 she published her work in the deeply personal Mother and Child. This book includes images of her friend, the children's book writer and illustrator Tasha Tudor, tender images of infants, children at home in the countryside, and soft focus images of life in rural New Hampshire.

Boards with wear to extremities (mostly at lower edges and corners); the interior with occasional light grime, mark, and mild toning, a few areas of mild spotting at gutters, browning to final leaf, and corner fold to tipped-in "From the Author"; jacket with toning, some soiling and staining, and edge wear including rubbing, chips, and small tears (largest 7/8 in.). Very good in good plus jacket.
