Nikki Giovanni (1943-2024) was an award-winning African American poet from Tennessee. In her own words: "I have been awarded an unprecedented 7 NAACP Image Awards which makes me very proud. I have been nominated for a Grammy; been a finalist for the National Book Award. I am very proud to have authored 3 New York Times and Los Angeles Times Best Sellers, highly unusual for a poet. I am a University Distinguished Professor at Virginia Tech University" (https://nikki-giovanni.com/biography/).

Wraps with light soiling, scuffing, and creasing, toning to the interior, and mostly mild wear to extremities with slightly heavier wear to one corner impacting leaves; text pages with a few spots of minor finger grime and many leaves with very light damp staining at lower margin; still overall a clean and very good copy.
