19th century, (2) tempera painted and gilt over gesso wooden panel icons: the first a Feodorovskaya type Icon of the Mother of God, marked with Lithuanian Ministry of Culture stamp to verso; the second depicting Our Lady "of the Sign," likely Russian, unmarked.
Largest 12 x 10 1/4 x 1 in.
Both with insect damage to verso, gilt rubbing, and some cracking to paint; the smaller with chips to gesso towards edges; the larger with nicks to gesso at edges and surface, fitted with small wooden planks at top and bottom as it was possibly fitted to a larger schematic work previously.
