A similar work by Vicente Guilló (Spanish, 1647-1698), completed between 1691 and 1698 is part of the collection of the Museo de Belles Arts de València, though it originated from the Carmen Convent in Valencia.

The painting has been lined, with large scratches to the left side, some flaking at the edges, retouching visible under UV light.
