Tiffany & Co., Aesthetic Period Bronze and Slate Mantel Clock

Third quarter 19th century, gilt and patinated bronze, the 4 in-dial signed "TIFFANY & CO. / NEW YORK", French 8-days movement with suspension spring and pendulum striking and a bell, the backplate signed with pastille stamp "JAPY FRERES & CIE / EXPOSITION / 1855 / GRANDE MED. D' HONNEUR", featuring a cast group of Venus and cupid surmounting a slate and gilt bronze architectural case, raised on ornate paw feet with palmette wings.
