France, circa 1820-1830, unsigned, featuring an integral gridiron pendulum with Apollo sun god surmount, round gilt face with Roman chapters and Breguet hands and engine turned center, with subsidiary dial, dual train movement with knife edge suspension and external countwheel striking on a bell, the backplate numbered 137, set within a gilt bronze lyre form case with finely chased acanthus and palmette relief work, crowned with fruiting finials, the underside with various monogram stamps; set within a glass dome atop a conforming ebonized wood base.
Clock 25 x 8 3/4 x 7 in; Dome and base 27 x 12 3/4 x 8 1/4 in.
