Black Lacquer Chinoiserie Pipe Rack with Six Wood Pipes

Early 20th century, rectangular form black lacquer rack with two hinged shelves decorated with gilt and handpainted scenes; this lot also includes (6) vintage tobacco pipes: (4) Trapwell briarwood pipes (Sparta, NC), a corn cob pipe, and a briarwood pipe marked "ASHELY."

Rack 7 3/4 x 11 7/8 in.; all cigars approximately 6 in. length

All pipes with signs of use and wear to tenons; two pipes with chips to bits; rack with minor areas of cracking to lacquer.
