Central or Southwestern Africa, early 20th century, carved wood stool, the male figure represents a ruler or dignitary, he holds an adze in his right hand and wears a cartridge belt around his waist, his left arm is malformed and his eyes are half shut, his ears are squared and his hair is represented with a checkered pattern.

14 1/8 x 8 5/8 x 9 in.

Loss to tip of adze; scattered cracks to whole with large crack to base, in stable condition.
