Circa 1991, the silver pendant in the form of a figure wearing a kimono with a flower, set with oval cut opals, and with a triangular shaped boulder opal, with detailed enameling over gold leaf and carved silver and gold accents throughout, completed with a gold mesh chain and a hook clasp, numbered 1957, marked 24K 14K S.S., with engraving "Sunlight streaks across / the skies... / the flowers raise their / heads, / Leaflight flashes across our / eyes.. / our hearts rise!", signed and dated, chain XTF testing 14K.

Marianne Hunter is an American jewelry artist known for cloisonné enamel work, with pieces in the Yale University Art Gallery, the Mint Museum, the Smithsonian’s Renwick Gallery, LACMA, the Oakland Museum of California, and the Gemological Institute of America Museum. Her exhibitions span museum shows such as Transforming Vision and Beyond the Mines: The Art of Gold, and extensive gallery presentations with Aaron Faber Gallery, SOFA Chicago/New York, Del Mano Gallery, and Enamelist Society biennials, alongside international recognition from Japan Shippo juried exhibitions. Hunter’s work is featured in publications including Art Jewelry Today and The Art of Fine Enameling, and she has lectured for the Gemological Institute of America, ACC/SOFA programs, universities, and craft organizations.
