19th century, likely Italian, dark patinated bronze, unsigned, modeled after the antique 1st century BC Roman bronze discovered in Pompeii in 1862, which was likely a copy of an ancient Greek original by the school of Praxiteles, mounted atop a round waisted Classical style terrace.
24 1/2 x 11 x 9 1/2 in.
Some areas of rubbing to the patina and spotting to the patina; base with mis-shaping, surface scratches, and later screws to the underside.
