The first a George III inlaid mahogany tea caddy, with satinwood or sycamore herringbone and triangular parquetry inlays, brass mounted key escutcheon and swan neck lid pull; opens to a divided interior with later paper, unmarked save handsaw shape mark to hinges (6 1/2 x 11 1/2 x 6 1/4 in.); the second a dovetailed oak decanter box, English or French, mid-19th century, with brass bound bossed strapping, fancy brass escutcheon mount and lid pull, opens to a magenta velvet lined interior, fitted with four period gilt decorated glass decanters with stoppers, lid fitted for a traveling glass, raised on cast brass feet, with marbled paper underside, unmarked (8 3/4 x 7 14 x 7 1/4 in.)
Tea caddy with some veneer repairs; old but later lined interior, underside likely once had feet (holes at corners); decanter box lacking glass to lid, some cracks and loss to decanters, some stoppers later, escutcheon and handle likely not original to the box.
