19th century, gilt and patinated bronze, cast in the form of a caparisoned elephant with drum case surmounted by a cherub reaching for a bird, 2 3/8-inch porcelain dial signed "Balthazar / PARIS" with Roman chapters, single train movement with jeweled platform escapement, the works' backplate stamped "MILLET" and numbered 2388; raised upon a Rococo style strapwork base.
10 1/2 x 7 3/4 x 4 3/4 in.
