Missie was born in Windsor, North Carolina, and now lives in Greensboro. She studied art at the studio of Madam Chabanier, the University of Montpellier, France, and UNC-Chapel Hill. A signature member of six national watercolor societies, Missie has exhibited in museums and exhibitions throughout the United States.
