III index; sturdy boards with scattered staining and discoloration, and light shelf wear; rubbing or chipping to spine labels, and a few with very slight separation from text block; occasional variation in paper thickness; interiors with toning, scattered foxing, and with occasional notations (the majority pencil), light soiling, tears, edge wear, or other mild handling/age wear; a few volumes with library stamps; a couple of volumes with damp staining (heaviest in vol. I); vol. II with writing in ink on p. 232 with bleed-through and associated off-setting impacting three total leaves; ownership signature on vol.
