Eugen Gabritschevsky was a Russian-born artist associated with Art Brut and outsider art. Trained as a biologist, he immigrated to Germany in 1929 and, following the onset of schizophrenia, spent most of his life in psychiatric institutions, where he produced thousands of drawings and paintings. His work features hybrid creatures, spirits, and imagined species rendered with line and color, reflecting both his scientific background and a richly imaginative inner world. Although little known during his lifetime, his art later gained recognition through Jean Dubuffet and is now held in major museum collections.

Good estate condition, not examined outside the frame.
