Aníbal Villacís was an influential Ecuadorian painter and printmaker whose work helped shape modern Latin American abstraction. Born in Cayambe, Ecuador, Villacís studied architecture and fine arts before dedicating himself fully to painting in the 1950s. He became a leading figure in post-war Ecuadorian art, blending geometric abstraction with pre-Columbian motifs, textural surfaces, and bold structural compositions that reflect both indigenous heritage and modernist principles.

Good estate condition.
