1970, handmade glazed ceramic tiles, signed and dated lower left, depicting various birds, a snake, and various flora vignettes within a tree, all against a umber field, presented within a custom heavy welded steel frame.

A former art instructor at UNC-Wilmington alongside Claude Howell, Minnis' work is present in the collections of the North Carolina Museum of Art, Raleigh and the Mint Museum, Charlotte. Beginning as a successful ceramicist, Minnis later devoted himself to painting in the early 1980s and he continued receiving accolades and commissions.


Overall good condition; some rust spotting to frame. Note: this Lot is of substantial weight; the buyer will need to make arrangements for moving and/or loading of this Lot.
