Circa 1830, unmarked, each of sarcophagus form over four bun feet, featuring a satinwood edge linear inlays and bevel-paneled hinged lid, inlaid key escutcheon, and red papered interior, the larger opening to removable twin tea compartments retaining traces of tin lining to the interior, flanking a central later glass mixing cup (7 1/2 x 12 1/4 x 6 in.); the smaller opening to twin compartments with removable lids (5 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 4 1/4 in).
From the Collection of a Lady, Williamsburg, Virginia Larger: escutcheon with crack; lid with some lifting to upper veneer panels; one hinged slightly loose, the other with tight crack at back panel.
Smaller: with some surface scratches to veneers; lid interior with crack.
