Circa 1830-1850, the larger of tapering sarcophagus form, oyster shell walnut veneers, inlaid fruitwood kite escutcheon with linear fruitwood and ebony edge inlays, opening to twin compartments with removable lids having carved pulls, later glass paneled interior (7 x 10 x 7 in.); the smaller of rectangular form, mahogany veneers with kingwood and satin wood linear "X" inlays to lid and obverse, interior with twin lidded compartments within ebony veneer trim retain much of their original tin lining (4 /12 x 8 x 4 3/4 in.).
