Miguel Ángel Polanco trained at the academy of master painter Valero Lecha beginning in 1956 and later received a scholarship in 1962 to study at the Academy of Fine Arts in Italy. He subsequently founded his own painting studio and, alongside Camilo Minero, Mercedes Durán, Miguel Ángel Orellana, and Raúl Elías Reyes, co-founded the “Garden of Art” movement. His work has been exhibited widely in solo and group shows throughout El Salvador, Central America, Mexico, Canada, the United States, Japan, and Israel.
