Belisario Gioja was an Italian painter from Rome known for 19th-century genre scenes in watercolor and oil. His work often depicted everyday Roman life, rural subjects, and narrative figure compositions, sometimes with orientalist influences. He exhibited widely in cities such as Rome, Florence, Paris, and London. He was the father and teacher of painter Edoardo Gioja, and he remained active in Rome’s art circles until his death in 1906.
