Marion Arnold is a UK-born artist, author, and art historian who was raised in Zimbabwe and completed her studies, including a PhD, in South Africa. Working across oil, watercolor, pastel, and print, her art is characterized by simplified forms, bright color, and patterned compositions, with landscapes inspired by the Matopo Hills in Zimbabwe as a recurring motif.
Arnold's work is held in major South African collections, including the Rupert Museum and the UCT Works of Art Collection. Arnold taught in South Africa for 20 years and later at Loughborough University in the UK. She has published widely on South African art, including books on Irma Stern and women artists in South Africa.
