Late 20th century, the first a Samburu (Northern Kenya) mporo marriage necklace with palm fibers threaded through mporo beads down the center, wrapped in leather and coated in red ochre and animal fat at back of necklace, used to signify the married status of a woman (10 1/2 x 9 x 5 3/4 in.); the second a wood headrest (likely Turkana or Karamojong peoples) with incised giraffes and antelopes decorating stand, with braided leather strap (7 1/4 x 5 3/4 x 3 1/4 in.); and the third a Maasai (Kenya and Tanzania) beaded wedding necklace constructed of cow hide, colorful glass beads, and metal ornaments (13 1/2 x 6 1/2 in.).
