From the Collection of Mike and Chris Wrinkle, Gainesville, Virginia Patrick Ryan was an impressionist painter who also worked under the pseudonym "Henri Plisson," a second identity he adopted as his style evolved from abstraction to impressionism. Maintaining separate professional names allowed him to navigate different gallery markets and price structures in the United States and Europe.
Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Ryan showed artistic promise early on. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and a master’s degree in fine art from the University of Southern California. Following his studies, he spent nearly two years painting and studying art in Spain, deeply influenced by European art history.
Upon returning to the U.S., Ryan exhibited through the Deville Gallery in Beverly Hills, where his impressionistic oil paintings featuring lush landscapes, beachscapes, and gardens, attracted prominent collectors.
Good estate condition.
