Paul Grimm was a German-born American painter best known for his luminous landscapes of the American West, particularly the deserts and mountains of Southern California and Arizona. He immigrated to the United States as a child and later studied art in New York before winning a scholarship to the Royal Academy in Düsseldorf, Germany, where he received formal academic training.

After returning to the U.S., Grimm settled in California, working initially in Hollywood before establishing a long-standing studio and gallery in Palm Springs, where he became closely associated with the Coachella Valley landscape.

Grimm exhibited regionally in California, including with organizations such as the California Art Club and Laguna Beach Art Association, and participated in exhibitions such as the 1935 San Diego Exposition. His work is held in several public collections, including the Palm Springs Art Museum, Irvine Museum (UC Irvine), Desert Caballeros Western Museum, Bowers Museum, and other Western institutions.
