Arden, North Carolina, vitreous semi-porcelain stoneware with applied glazes, the first approximately 1 gallon pottery jug with stopper, decorated in wine crackle glaze, 1937 W. B. Stephen "potter at the wheel" mark to the underside (11 1/2 x 7 1/2 x 7 in.); and a low vase with turquoise over wine crackle glaze, pink interior, 1940 "potter at the wheel" mark (5 x 6 1/2 x 6 1/2 in.); the fourth a large plaque centering a cameo slip glazed sailing scene on light blue ground, 1946 "potter at the wheel" mark (11 1/4 in. diameter); and a small cameo oval plaque of the Madonna and child, with dark green glaze, signed W.B.S. to the reverse (4 3/4 x 4 in.)
