Circa 1790, featuring inlays of oval shell marquetry and fluted stiles, framed within linear mixed wood perimeter borders, inlaid kite key escutcheon, opening to twin lidded compartments with finial pulls and banded perimeter inlays, retaining much of the lining to the interiors.

Shrinkage crack to upper lid and left front stile; lid does not sit flush; upper lid reverse panel with area of repair near hinges; and some chipping to veneers; scattered loss to the lining.
