Born on Boston’s Beacon Hill in 1945, Quidley is a self-taught painter whose work over the past 25 years reflects a commitment to classical, timeless imagery. Known for his meticulous craftsmanship, he grinds many of his own pigments and paints on carefully prepared panels, often presenting his works in gold leaf water-gilded frames to ensure beauty and permanence.
Based on the Massachusetts coast since 1980, Quidley is a renowned portraitist who also accepts select commissions. He was honored with a one-man exhibition at the Cahoon Museum of American Art in 1994 and was a Master of the Copley Society of Art.
