The Naiad Press was an early publisher of lesbian literature in the U.S. While it was founded in the 1970s, the press grew significantly throughout the 1980s and 1990s after its relocation to Tallahassee, making a significant impact as one of the largest publishers of lesbian books in the world.

Black Lesbians has a foreword by activist, author, teacher, and publisher, Barbara Smith. In it, she states, "The book you are holding in your hands is a kind of miracle" (pg. ix). This first and only edition of the groundbreaking bibliography is extremely scarce on the market.

Wraps with toning to edges and spine; minor scuffing/marks to wraps and top edge of text block; mild creasing to interior and front cover; a few areas of gutter cracking due to glued binding; pages extremely clean. Very good.
