Sharron Parker (NC), Felt Wall Hanging

Dyed and felted roving wool, 1995, the asymmetrical and undulating gray felted wool form adorned with rosettes of felted wool in reds and purples, with thick filament loops attached for hanging, and comes with mesh screen for cleaning purposes, lined with woven cotton fabric to verso with date and notations from artist.

Born in Ithaca, New York, raised in Florida, Sharron Parker has made North Carolina her home base for the majority of her life. With an undergraduate degree from Duke University, an MA from UNC Greensboro, and many years spent studying at Penland, Sharron has been creating felt works for 46 years. She exhibits her work internationally, including most recently Art on Paper 2025, New York, and the 2025 Palm Beach Show, Palm Beach, Florida.
