Fred Johnston (Seagrove, NC), Two Pottery Face Cups

With bas-relief features, white ground, and brown and cobalt brushed glaze accents, both signed "Love Fred Johnston" to underside.

Fred Johnston studied pottery in Seagrove, Alfred University, and Penn State University. His work can be found in several museum permanent collections, including the Mint Museum in Charlotte. He established Johnston & Gentithes Art Pottery in Seagrove with his wife in 1997.
