Private Collection, Raleigh, North Carolina Peder Wilhelm McCanless (Will) is the 2nd born of the McCanless family of potters from Seagrove, NC. Will specializes in the zinc silicate glazing process that produces brilliant crystalline structures on his pottery surfaces. Will also creates intricately hand painted stoneware pieces inspired by Italian, Chinese and Middle Eastern motifs, and the Seagrove red glazing technique showcasing Seagrove's early Arts and Crafts influence. Will has been featured in a documentary about his family that airs on several state PBS affiliates around the country. Will has also been featured in Southern Living Magazine, Our State Magazine and Pinehurst Magazine in addition to many books relating to various pottery topics.
