England, circa 1830s, unmarked, the first a sarcophagus form in satinwood veneers, inlaid kite key escutcheon and lion ring handles, opening to two removable tea compartments with exotic veneered hinged lids flanking a central glass tea bowl with royal violet velvet lining and dark papered ceiling, raised on brass paw feet (8 x 12 x 6 in.); the second of rectangular form, high grade figured mahogany veneers with silver-plated bail handle and inlaid oval key escutcheon, opening to removable hinge lidded tea compartments, central mixing well, and magenta papered ceiling, retaining Randall Tysinger Antiques label to underside (7 x 13 x 6 1/2 in.).
Private Collection from an Equestrian Farm, Moore County, North Carolina Some light water staining to sarcophagus form; glass fits well but likely later and with a few minute fleabites to upper rim; some sun-fading to mahogany veneers; both with remnants and flaking of original tea compartment lining.
