Edouard Cortès was a French painter celebrated for his atmospheric Parisian street scenes, capturing the charm and character of the city across different seasons, eras, and times of day. Often referred to as “Le Poète Parisien de la Peinture,” Cortès worked in a style that blended realism with impressionistic light and color, portraying bustling boulevards, rain-soaked pavements, and glowing shopfronts with a theatrical sense of mood. Born into a family of artists, he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français and gained widespread recognition during his lifetime.
