18th century, two part cast figure of Dharmapala Mahakala, with red pigment to hair topped by a skull head crown, a billowing ribbon wraps around his body, he wears a necklace of skulls and has six hands holding various attributes, he wears an elephant skin on his back, he stands atop a prostrated Vinayaka on a beaded edge lotus blossom base, two pegs under his feet fit into base, with incised ruyi style motifs, raised on floral and geometric incised foot, the underside has a hand cut copper plate that remains sealed and is engraved with a double-vajra motif, Lawson's paper tag remains with sculpture.

Very good overall condition; some minor rubbing and loss to surface gilt and pigments; some loss to inlaid cabochons; trunk of elephant has a break with loss to the end; lower right hand is missing its lasso.
