Late 19th to early 20th century, patinated bronze sphinx candle holders mounted to conforming peach colored marble base, now wired as table lamps with faux candle sheaths, includes two black paper clip shades with cloth trim, unmarked.

From the Estate of the late Mr. Oscar E. Menzer, Memphis, Tennessee. Oscar was a renowned architect and Yale graduate who studied under the greats: Eero Saarinen, Philip Johnson and Louis Kahn; designing 100s of the most beautiful homes of Memphis.

Both working at time of evaluation; both sphinxes loosely mounted to base; the sphinxes with oxidation spotting and surface spots.
