Gary Niblett, born in Carlsbad, New Mexico, developed his artistic talent early while growing up among the ranch lands and cowboy culture of the American West. After studying at Eastern New Mexico University and the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles, where he also worked as a background artist for Hanna-Barbera Studios, he devoted himself to a fine art career inspired by his firsthand experience of ranch life. Known for his vivid Western narratives and mastery of light and composition, Niblett became the youngest artist ever elected to the Cowboy Artists of America and received both the organization’s Silver Medal for Oil Painting and Gold Medal for Watercolor.
