A co-founder of the Saint Soleil movement in the early 1970s, Tiga championed a communal, spiritually driven approach to art-making rooted in Vodou symbolism and rural life. His work spans painting, ceramics, and performance, characterized by bold color, rhythmic forms, and mystical imagery. Through both his artistic practice and mentorship, Tiga played a key role in shaping Haiti’s contemporary art landscape and promoting its global recognition.
