Nikifor Sviristuhin (born Nikolay Ostapenko in Kakhovka, Ukraine) is a painter known for his vibrant, impressionistic style. Trained in graphic arts at the Chisinau State Pedagogical University, he has worked primarily in oil since his first solo exhibition in 1994. Painting often en plein air, he captures light, atmosphere, and movement through small, expressive brushstrokes. Influenced by landscapes and cityscapes in France and Moldova, his work blends impressionist and post-expressionist elements with emotional depth.
