Chris Riggs is a contemporary American artist whose work blends elements of cubism, abstraction, surrealism, minimalism, pop, and street art. He began painting as a child with his grandfather and was creating graffiti murals in New York City by age eleven. Riggs later studied painting and political science at the City College of New York and Columbia University, experiences that continue to inform both the visual language and conceptual framework of his work.
Working across painting and sculpture, Riggs draws on the energy of New York to explore themes of politics, identity, and social change. In 2004, he launched a mayoral campaign, adopting the name Chris Riggs for Mayor and using his art as a platform for activism. His work, known for its bold color and graphic intensity, has been exhibited internationally and is held in collections in more than 50 countries.
Good estate condition.
