Serial number C 94644 present on belly of blued pump-action receiver, text WINCHESTER MODL 1897 present on charging bar, numerals 12 and text CYL. present on 20 in. blued barrel with single bead at barrel/receiver junction, exposed hammer, smooth walnut buttstock with steel buttplate, walnut corncob forend.

Overall good estate condition, bore is bright and shiny with moderate wad fouling, all blued surface are worn and present areas of thinning, light scratches and light surface rust, mechanical operation is perfect, wood shows moderate field marks with some gouges and significant chip at rear of forend.
